Ready to upgrade from Dragon Breath and unlock one of the most powerful grinding and PvP fighting styles in Blox Fruits? Dragon Talon is a direct, devastating upgrade that focuses on high-damage, close-range AoE attacks that burn enemies and shake their screens.
While your competition is stuck with a simple wiki page, this guide will give you the complete step-by-step walkthrough, from the prerequisites to the exact NPC location (which has changed!), and even how to upgrade it.
Dragon Talon Requirements (At a Glance)
Before you start the full quest, here is a quick checklist of everything you will need.
- Fighting Style: 400+ Mastery on Dragon Breath
- Currency: 3,000,000 Beli
- Currency: 5,000 Fragments
- Special Item: 1x Fire Essence
- NPC: Find Uzoth at his new location in the Third Sea
How to Get Dragon Talon: The 4-Step Guide
Follow these steps in order, and you’ll have the fiery fists of Dragon Talon in no time.
Step 1: Master Dragon Breath (The Prerequisite)

You can’t get Dragon Talon without first mastering its predecessor.
- Get Dragon Breath: If you don’t have it, you must first learn Dragon Breath.
- Find Sabi: This style is taught by the NPC Sabi.
- Location: Sabi is found in the Second Sea, on the wall arches in the Kingdom of Rose (near the Dojo). He also appears in the Castle on the Sea in the Third Sea.
- Cost: Sabi will teach you Dragon Breath for 1,500 Fragments.
- Grind to 400 Mastery: Use Dragon Breath to defeat bosses and NPCs until you reach mastery level 400.
Step 2: Get the Fire Essence (The RNG Grind)

This is the hardest and most time-consuming step. The Fire Essence is a rare item obtained through pure luck.
- Go to the Haunted Castle: This island is in the Third Sea.
- Find the Death King: This NPC is inside the main castle, in a small mausoleum-like building near the graveyard.
- Farm Bones: You need 50 Bones to “roll” for a reward. You get Bones by defeating any of the NPCs on the Haunted Castle island.
- Buy a “Random Surprise”: Speak to the Death King and choose to buy a “Random Surprise” for 50 Bones.
- The Grind: You have a very low chance (around 1-3%) of receiving the Fire Essence from a Random Surprise. You can only buy 10 Random Surprises every 2 hours. Be patient—this may take several attempts over a few days.
Step 3: Farm Your Beli & Fragments

While you’re grinding for the Fire Essence, you should also be farming your currency. You’ll need:
- 3,000,000 Beli
- 5,000 Fragments
The best ways to farm these are by participating in Raids, defeating Sea Beasts, and completing other Third Sea events.
Step 4: Find Uzoth (The New Location)
Important: Many old guides state Uzoth is at the Haunted Castle. This is incorrect. He has moved.
- Travel to Hydra Island: This is the large, multi-tiered island in the Third Sea.
- Find the Dragon Dojo: Climb the island’s terrain toward the large dojo building at the top.
- Locate Uzoth: Uzoth is the horned NPC standing outside the entrance of the Dragon Dojo.
- Learn the Style: With the Fire Essence in your inventory, 400+ Dragon Breath Mastery, 3,000,000 Beli, and 5,000 Fragments, talk to Uzoth and select “Learn.”
He will take all your items and currency and teach you the Dragon Talon fighting style.
Pro-Tip: You can give Uzoth the Fire Essence before you have the money or mastery. He will “save” it for you, so you don’t have to worry about losing it if you die. You can then return later with the other requirements to complete the purchase.
Is Dragon Talon Worth It? (Review & Moveset)
Absolutely. Dragon Talon is one of the highest-damage fighting styles in the game, making it incredible for grinding, raids, and Sea Events, especially when paired with the Buddha fruit. It is also a mandatory requirement for unlocking the Godhuman fighting style.
Pros:
- Massive AoE and hitbox on moves
- Extremely high damage output
- Applies a “burn” effect
- Great for grinding and bosses
Cons:
- Generally slower than other fighting styles
- M1 (click) attacks are slow, making it less ideal for some PvP combos
Moveset
- [Z] Talon Lighter (125 Mastery): A fast dash that, if it connects with an enemy, grabs them, burns them with blue fire, and executes a finisher.
- [X] Ember Annihilation (250 Mastery): Fires a projectile that drags any enemy it hits. You can hold the move to fly with the projectile.
- [C] Infernal Vortex (350 Mastery): Creates a fiery vortex around you that stuns and damages nearby enemies, launching them into the air.
What’s Next? How to Upgrade Dragon Talon
You can upgrade your Dragon Talon moves by:
- Reaching 500+ Mastery on Dragon Talon.
- Speaking to the Dojo Trainer (inside the dojo behind Uzoth) to get quests.
- Defeating the Dragon Hunter NPC to get Blaze Embers.
- Returning to Uzoth to upgrade your Z, X, and C moves, giving them new properties.
